Your stock parts can only handle about 6-7 psi and about 260whp I believe. If you want more than 300 you will need to upgrade your rods, and drop lower compression pistons, probably will need to sleeve the block and do some other stuff. Rods and pistons are your main restrictions for higher boost.

A used 2ZZ is cheaper than building the 1ZZ. It will make more torque everywhere, and will make the same power at lower boost which means it will be more reliable, less knock prone etc. It also has a much higher redline which means you can stretch each gear to a higher speed which means the car is much faster overall.
What’s the difference between 1ZZ and 2ZZ?
Different parts include crank, rods, pistons, valves, and more. The block has a larger bore (the 2ZZ has a larger bore than the 1ZZ, and a shorter stroke). The crank is different to reflect the shorter stroke. The rods and pistons are different to give the appropriate compression ratio and valve clearance.
